The Sens first home game of the season saw them eventually run out comfortable winners against
Bradford Bulldogs, who came into the game with a short bench.
The game started well for Sens when after just four minutes Tom Humphries scored the opening
goal after some nice play by Tom Proctor and Nathan Britton who took an assist each. The three
combined again two score goals 2 and 3 within a minute of each other to make the score 3-0 and
furhter nice play from Sens top line made the score 4-0 before Tom Humphries completed his
hat-trick after 14 minutes. Bradford managed to pull a goal back on the powerplay and the period
ended 5-1 in favour of the Sens in a dominant period.
Sens continued the scoring quickly in the second period with Alex Harding scoring a nice goal,
assisted by Andy McEwan. From here the game went back and forth with free scoring on both sides,
Cam Brownley also completing his hat-trick. It seemed that both teams were just happy scoring with
the period ending 9-5 in favour of the Sens, Bradford having scored 4 powerplay goals in the game
The third started in a similar quick fasion with Cam Brownley scoring his fourth of the night assisted
Elliott Knell and Andy McEwan two minutes into the period. Further goals from Joe Cross and
Jordan Martin, and two goals from Bradford meant that the game finished 12-7.
Overall the team will be happy with the win; however, conceding 7 goals will be of quite a concern
including four powerplay goals meaning 7 of the 10 goals the Sens have conceded have come from
the powerplay – something that the coaches will be keen to work on over the coming games.
