Sens @ TIGERS 02/12/17

Just before the Christmas break, Sens had two games to finish with one being cancelled due to snow. The
first of these was a trip to Telford to face the Tigers who were on a good run of form. The Sens took a
shorter bench than usual with some of the juniours not being available, injuries and illness.

The game started extremely well for the Sens when after just 43 seconds George Crawshaw fired a long
speculative shot that went into the top corner for a 1-0 lead. This paved the way for the Sens to dominate
the period, with two further goals from Tom Proctor and another from George Crawshaw making it 3-0
in the Sens favour. Telford pulled one back on the powerplay, with the end of the period being 3-1 to the
visiting Sens team.

The second period was much more open with both side having good chances to score, the Sens
taking full advantage of this with Tom Humphries scoring after some nice play by Tyler Nixon before Telford
scored their second of the night. Both Zach Brown in the Telford goal and Mark Hartley making key saves to
keep the game at this score throughout the period.

The Sens were hoping that a 4-2 lead going into the third would be enough to take the 2 points home, yet
after only 13 seconds Telford pulled it within 1, with some nice play ending in a back door goal. And six
minutes later they evened the score on a powerplay and seemed to have the momentum. However, the
Sens team rallied and carried on battling with their tired legs, outshooting their opponents nearly 2-1 in
the final period but could not find a way past Zach Brown. Telford took advantage of the missed chances
and scored the go-ahead goal with 5 minutes to play. A last minute powerplay gave Sens a chance to play
6-on-4, but a bad bounce cost a turnover and Telford put the game to bed with an empty net goal and the
final score being 4-6.
