Sens @ DRAGONS 16/12/17

The final game of 2017 saw the Sens travel to Deeside in what they hoped would be a good positive end to
the year. The previous visit proved tough for the Dragons to handle with a 23-1 victory in the Sens favour.

The first 15 minutes of the game proved to be quite frustrating for the Sens, with a whole host of shots
being put on Charles Perry in the Dragons goal but only Matt Wain being able to find a way past with a nice
tip in to make it 1-0. A further goal from Nathan Britton followed after some nice play by Tom Humphries
and Ryan Fraley and that was how the period would end at 2-0. A lack of pucks for warm-up, delayed
referee’s and no music didn’t help the game at all with it being quite a slow start for both teams.

The second period was much more fruitful with Sens socring 8 goals, including 3 in less than a minute. The
scorers being Ryan Fraley grabbing a hat-trick, Solomon Smith, Declan Kime, Nathan Britton, Tyler Nixon
and Elliott Knell all grabbing a goal each. Sens welcomed Bob Browne back in the net after a long layoff
due to an injury and after a solid first period, a horrible error gave the puck to the Dragons player in the slot
who gave Bob no chance to blow any chance of a returning shutout. Another bit of poor play by the Sens
gave Dragons a 2-on-0 with Bob and they managed to take the chance again to score their second with the
period ending 10-2.

The third picked up where it left off from the Sens with more domination and a further 5 goals from Tyler
Nixon, Elliott Knell, Tom Humphries, Paul Lofthouse and Tom Proctor. There was also a few fisticuffs with
Matt Wain not being happy with a Dragons players and dropping the gloves in the last 5 minutes of the
game. A solid end to the year with a comfortable 15-2 victory.
